Interpreting services in Sofia

Artel-22 has provided interpreting services in Sofia since 1999. You can request interpreting for a business meeting, negotiations, a conference or an institutional appointment. Tell us the languages, date and subject so we can discuss the appropriate format.

Simultaneous interpreting

In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter works alongside the speaker, typically from a booth using a microphone and headsets. Participants listen through receiving equipment. For a conference request, describe the venue and technical arrangements. Equipment provision needs separate clarification when organising the event.

Consecutive interpreting

The speaker pauses while the interpreter conveys what has been said. This format can be used for meetings, negotiations, interviews and training. Allow space in the agenda for speaking and interpreting in turn. Describe the participants, subject and discussion format as well as the event’s length.

Interpreting at a notary, court or institution

Accompanied interpreting is available for notarial, court and other institutional appointments. Describe the purpose in general terms, such as a property transaction, power of attorney or marriage-related appointment. Ask the institution about its requirements for the interpreter’s participation in your particular case and forward the instructions.

Remote interpreting

Interpreting can be arranged through an online video meeting or by phone. Specify the connection method, participants and languages. For an online session, agree how access details will be shared and allow for an audio check. For a phone call, clarify how everyone will join the conversation.

Requesting an interpreter

Send the date, start time, location, expected duration, languages and subject. Include an agenda, presentations or relevant documents for preparation when available. Mark the current version if the programme changes. For several sessions, describe each session’s timing and subject.

How the booking works

  1. Send your request by email or discuss it by phone or at the office. Include the date, location, duration, languages and subject; preparation documents can be sent by email, brought in or delivered by courier.
  2. Receive an individual quote and timeframe for the agreed work. Clarify the schedule, languages, format and preparation materials before confirming.
  3. The interpreter participates in the agreed meeting or call. For an institutional appointment, confirm participation requirements with the institution in advance.
  4. Interpreting takes place on site or remotely as agreed. If written translations are also ordered, agree separately whether to receive them at the office, electronically or by courier.

Preparing the meeting

For a business meeting, explain who will speak each language and what the discussion is intended to achieve. Send the current presentation and say whether questions or group discussions are planned. For an institutional appointment, provide the confirmed time, address and any instructions you have received.

For a remote session, choose a setting where participants can hear clearly. Agree who will lead the meeting and how speakers will take turns. Send relevant documents for preparation rather than relying on reading a long text through a camera during the call.

If you are arranging several appointments, describe them separately, including any travel between locations. Let us know about changes to the schedule so the booking details can be reviewed. These preparation details help define your request; availability and arrangements still need to be confirmed for the particular session.
