Brief project description:

ARTEL-22 OOD’s business activities include freight transport services for various types of cargo, carried out using equipped goods vehicles, predominantly for small consignments and volumes, to destinations in Bulgaria and abroad. The company aims to optimise its energy use in order to reduce emissions released into the atmosphere. This project implements the objectives of the “Energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in enterprises” procedure: to provide targeted support to Bulgarian enterprises to improve their energy efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy sources (RES), thereby accelerating the transition to climate neutrality. To achieve greater energy independence and move towards environmentally sustainable operations, following contractor selection procedures, a photovoltaic power plant will be built with an inverter capacity of 10 kW, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting structures and other necessary components. To overcome constraints on the company’s development, solar panels and electricity storage equipment will be installed, enabling the company to use clean energy for its own needs, store surplus electricity generated by the photovoltaic power plant, and use it during power outages and as a supplementary energy source. This will improve the efficiency of the overall energy generation and storage system.

The energy efficiency investment will also include the supply and installation of two air-to-water heat pumps, which will provide highly efficient heating and cooling, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and conventional electricity sources and contributing to an overall improvement in the company’s energy efficiency.

The investments under the procedure comply with the requirements of the “do no significant harm” principle regarding the environment and will contribute to Bulgaria’s green transition.

Project objectives: The main objective of this project is to implement the objectives of the “Energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in enterprises” procedure: to provide targeted support to Bulgarian enterprises to improve their energy efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy sources (RES), thereby accelerating the private sector’s transition to climate neutrality by reducing its carbon footprint, optimising energy consumption and increasing the share of renewable energy sources in enterprises’ energy mix.

Expected project results: The project is expected to reduce energy consumption and expenditure on electricity and fuels, and to increase the enterprise’s energy independence. The share of energy used from renewable sources will increase, and the adverse effects of fluctuations in the prices of energy sources will be reduced.
